The eighth meeting of the System Development and Economics Study Committee of Cigre-Iran was held as an extraordinary meeting on Feb. 11th 2025 from 14:00 to 16:00 at Cigre Iran Secretariat - Monenco Iran Co. with the presence of the main members and the chairman and secretary of the committee. The order of this meeting was dedicated to the general review of the 765 kV network plan, which has been initiated a few months under the leadership of Mr. Arab Sadeq at Tavanir Company.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Arab Sadegh provided general explanations regarding the hypothesis of the formation of the plan, the study and implementation dimensions, and the estimate of the financial credit of the plan. Referring to the previous studies conducted in this regard on the one hand, and the determination of the Ministry of Energy to introduce large amounts of renewable energy into the network on the other hand, Mr. Mohseni considered both issues to require serious, accurate, and comprehensive basic and specialized studies. Mr. Hedayat also made suggestions for the development of the desired corridor for the development of electrical connections with neighboring countries in the south and southeast of Iran.

In the end, Mr. Arab Sadegh expressed his readiness to share the draft of proposal prepared for the study phase of the plan to receive the comments from the members, and it was decided the members would send him their comments within a week. The chairman of the committee also reported on previous studies conducted at the Niroo Research Institute in the field of feasibility studies for the use of high-capacity power transmission corridors in Iran and announced that the executive summary of this project, which was available in the committee's publications section on the CIGRE Iran website until last year, will be shared again with the members of the committee.
